Every Savoyard worth his or her salt has considered trying to "fix" The Grand Duke, Gilbert & Sullivan's last and most compromised creation. I was inspired by Peter Kline's recommendations in The Theatre Student: Gilbert and Sullivan Production, and wanted to add a few fixes of my own. Gilbert & Sullivan operettas are by their very nature absurd, but I think in creating this particular operetta, Gilbert slipped right down the rabbit hole.
